We never planned to stop with the book. Marge Rogers and I want more materials on puppy socialization out there, so now we are writing some in bite-sized pieces.
I am pleased to link to the first four (free access) educational articles on the Puppy Socialization Project site!

I would like to see information put out about socializing dogs who are out of the puppy stage. People are adopting dogs from the shelters that have not had proper socialization and they need help.
Hi, Stacey. That is a great point. I will put that on the list for our articles.
Actually, the process for older dogs is the same as for puppies. It will just go much slower. Things dogs weren’t exposed to as puppies will likely elicit a fear response. It’s important to learn about body language and make sure we are moving at the dog’s pace.
Thank you for your wonderful suggestion. We’ll get to work on that!
Excellent. I am a retired trainer (54 years) who taught public classes as well as working in SAR, law enforcement, field dogs, Rally and agility. I’ve socialized many adult dogs and dealt with a lot of behavioral problems. I see so many owners and dogs with socialization issues and especially owners who have no idea how to proceed or what to expect in working with their dogs. Articles aimed at them in particular will be very helpful. Most owners of adult dogs don’t think puppy information pertains to them and ignore it. Thank you so much for your willingness to address this area of training.
I’m thrilled to see this resource. You and Marge rock! 🙂
In keeping with Stacey Gehrman’s post about socializing dogs who are out of puppy stage (yes!) I’d be particularly interested in materials on navigating dog-dog relationships through those lovely adolescent months — years in some cases.
Thank you so much for all you do!
Marnie, thank you! I’m sorry I missed your comment until today! We are definitely going to develop some resources on that topic.
Thanks, Eileen! I look forward to them.
