Fireworks Time!

I updated my fireworks post and put it onto a permanent page, since it applies to several holidays. Right now we have Canada Day and U.S. Independence day both coming up.

Thank you, Eileen! Perfect timing and great info. Boise is so fireworks crazy that we just leave town for a few days around the Fourth, but there are still sporadic neighborhood fireworks for a week before and a couple of weeks after. This may be the year to try canned cheese (great photo!).

The only problem we have with meds is that it takes an hour or so for alprazolam to work, so every evening we have to guess if it’ll be a fireworks night or not. If we wait to dose her till we hear the first noise, it’s too late. Once Habi starts quaking, the medication seems much less effective.

That would be tricky with the meds! I hope you and Habi have a lovely, calm holiday.

Long time reader, first time commenter… I just wanted to say I love your blog! I’m a CPDT-KA and I still love coming here to get ideas and to be reminded of things I’d forgotten! Keep up the great writing. I love sharing it with clients.
